Wake Forest School of Medicine
Daniel Steele is a Medical Student at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He served as a U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D). His military career led him to the Middle East, where his work centered on providing advanced trauma medical care, leading trauma training for allied forces, and supporting large-scale medical initiatives to improve care in underserved regions. These experiences shaped his commitment to service and ultimately inspired his pursuit of a career in medicine.
Since preparing to transition from active duty, Daniel and his family have begun navigating the challenges of moving from military to civilian life, including pursuing medical school and managing the financial and personal demands that come with it. He looks forward to shifting from battlefield medicine to long-term patient care. Inspired by Glen Doherty’s legacy, Danny is committed to a life defined by purpose, resilience, and a deep dedication to helping others.
