Tyler Szczecina

US Army - 8 years

University of Michigan Ross School of Business, MBA

Tyler, a Chicago-area native and former Army Ranger, comes from a family of ironworkers whose hands helped shape the skyline of one of America's great cities. After navigating a difficult upbringing, he made the decision to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he spent five years in the 75th Ranger Regiment, completing multiple combat deployments across the Middle East. Like Glen, Tyler found his direction through the discipline and brotherhood of elite military service.

After leaving the Army, Tyler built a career in financial services while staying deeply committed to the veteran community, volunteering within his local community and virtually across multiple states. Now pursuing an MBA at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, with a focus on operations and leadership, Tyler is working to bring the same standards he held in the Regiment to the industrial workforce of the city his family helped build. The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation Scholarship supports that next mission, and the community he intends to keep giving back to long after it's complete.
