Tobias de Peyster
Army - 4 years
University of Virginia Darden School of Business - MBA
Tobias served four years as an Infantry Officer in the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. During his time in the Army, he led soldiers as both a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer, deploying once to Eastern Syria in support of counterterrorism and stability operations. Tobias earned his commission through Cornell University’s Army ROTC program, graduating in 2021.
He is now a first-year MBA student at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, where he is pursuing a career in investment banking. Tobias is passionate about bridging the gap between military leadership and business by applying the discipline, teamwork, and adaptability forged in service to solving complex financial and strategic challenges.
Tobias was introduced to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation through community fundraising events near his hometown of Wellesley, Massachusetts. He was inspired by Glen’s spirit of adventure, commitment to service, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Tobias hopes to honor Glen’s legacy by continuing to lead a life defined by purpose, curiosity, and service to others. In the long term, he aims to expand educational opportunities and professional development programs for veterans transitioning to civilian careers, helping them, as Glen did, to live fully and give back beyond uniformed service.
