US Marines - 9 years

Harvard Business School - MBA

Samuel Badger Fuller Jr. is a Marine Special Operations Officer transitioning from nearly a decade of service to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School. Since commissioning in 2016, he has led Marines in both conventional infantry and special operations units, deploying multiple times to Iraq and other regions in support of U.S. strategic objectives. As the Team Leader of a Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT), he commanded a 14-man team on missions focused on counterterrorism, irregular warfare, and partner force capacity building. These experiences honed his ability to lead diverse teams in high-stakes environments, solve complex problems, and operate effectively with limited guidance—skills he now seeks to apply in the civilian sector.

Looking ahead, Samuel aims to establish a nonprofit organization that designs and deploys modular, off-grid housing for communities rebuilding after armed conflict or natural disaster. Having seen the lasting consequences of war on civilians, he is committed to developing scalable, resilient housing solutions that restore dignity and stability. He plans to fund this mission in part through a complementary for-profit venture that makes off-grid living accessible to recreational users in the U.S., creating a self-sustaining, dual-impact model.

As he transitions from military service, Samuel remains guided by the same values that defined his time in uniform: integrity, humility, and a dedication to purpose. Through continued education and service, he hopes to build a career that contributes meaningfully to others while honoring the principles that shaped his journey.
