Kenneth MacDonald

Navy SEAL - 6.5 years

Bridgewater State University - BA/BS

Kenneth, a Massachusetts native and former Navy SEAL, first learned about Glen Doherty during his time training with SEAL Team Ten. Like Glen, he was drawn to service through adventure, curiosity, and purpose, serving as both a SOCM medic and sniper. After leaving the Navy, Kenneth faced the challenges of supporting a young family and finding meaning outside the military.

His turning point came when he began working at an elementary school, supporting students with autism and coaching basketball. The experience reignited his sense of purpose and inspired him to pursue a career in education. Now working toward a bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education, Kenneth aims to teach social studies and inspire students to connect with the world around them. The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation Scholarship would help him continue this path—carrying forward Glen’s legacy of service, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
