Army Special Operations -
MIT Sloan - MBA
John (Jack) Barry is a Massachusetts native, Special Operations veteran, and leader dedicated to service, innovation, and purpose. Inspired by Glen Doherty’s example, Jack believes life is a gift to be lived boldly and used to serve others—a conviction shaped early by the loss of his younger brother.
He served in the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) as a Blackhawk mission commander, leading high-risk operations around the world. These experiences forged his belief that innovation and leadership are essential to protecting and advancing the nation.
After his military service, Jack became Chief Operating Officer of a fast-growing fitness technology company, earned admission to the Harvard Kennedy School, and is preparing to begin his MBA at MIT Sloan. His goal is to work at the intersection of national security and technology, building companies and tools that strengthen the country and support those who serve.
Committed to mentorship and veteran empowerment, Jack continues to help others transition from military to civilian life. He embodies the values Glen Doherty lived by—courage, purpose, and service beyond the uniform.
