Sample Fundraising Note

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope that this note finds you well and enjoying the start of summer! I am thrilled to announce that I will be captaining Team GDMF Falmouth for our FIRST in person race since the 2019 New York City Marathon. We have an amazing team of 15 runners and we are so excited to run the iconic Falmouth Road Race together on August 15th!

This 4th of July weekend, please remember our soldiers that have provided us with the freedoms we enjoy as Americans by making a donation to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation!  A donation of any amount will help us meet our goal to welcome 15 new GDMF scholars in 2021.

There are several other folks that you may know on our team. Please feel free to contribute to ANY runner on our team. The money all goes to the same place! =)

For 9 years I have been a part of the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation, raising funds to help Special Ops soldiers, like our friend Glen pursue new careers post military. Along the way I have met several of our scholars and can see first hand how the money we have raised has helped them achieve their dreams. Glen was stuck as a career "soldier," contracting for the CIA when he could have been an EMT, a pilot or worked towards another job as a civilian. Glen never found the ability to make that difficult next step.

Our mission is to assist the "Glen's" in the Special Ops community make that leap. We have seen how our annual scholarships alleviate the burden and stress of leaving a secure military career to go back to school. Every dollar raised is another step towards a new opportunity for these soldiers and their entire family. Thanks to ALL of you for making this a reality for over 70 individuals!

The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation is small but mighty and we do make a big difference to the soldiers and families that we support.

Thank you from all of us at the GDMF & have a wonderful 4th of July!
