WE'RE BACK in April! For the 10th consecutive year, Team GDMF is tackling Heartbreak hill to provide scholarships for special operations soldiers, like Glen, and their families. We are honored to be a part of the John Hancock Non Profit Program once again.
TEAM 10 is going to be EPIC!
We have yet another fabulous team of men and women committed to running 26.2 in honor of Glen. Please click on the links below and learn more about our dedicated runners. Make a donation and help us hit our $75,000 goal for 2022! Thank you!
Former Special Operations Medic for the US Navy. William is our FIRST GDMF Scholar to run and fundraise for one of our marathon teams. We always like to have representation from the military / first responders but to have a scholar step up to give back is truly special! William graduated in 2021 from Yale and is now in residency at GW University Hospital thanks to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation.
Krystin hails from Glen’s hometown of Winchester, MA where she is a Spanish Teacher at the high school. She has participated multiple times in our annual Road Race and run Boston virtually the past 2 years raising funds for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. So excited to have Krystin on the squad representing Winchester and Team GDMF for her first official Boston Marathon finish! DONATE TO KRYSTIN !
Gina earned an official “BQ” Boston qualifier spot to run this year’s marathon - meaning she is “wicked” fast! In 2020 Gina was about to complete 6 of the 7 major world marathons when the world shut down thanks to Covid. Gina is BACK raising funds for Team GDMF and looking forward to finally crossing the Boston finishline as she intended to in 2020. Many thanks to Gina for volunteering to run 26.2 in honor of Glen and raise funds for our Scholarship program!
GDMF Team Captain, Kristin will be running 13.1 in May to raise funds for the Boston Marathon team. Kristin was part of the inaugural Team GDMF Boston back in 2013 along with husband and GDMF Board member, Tom. This will be her 10th year in a row raising funds for the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation at various races. To date she has raised almost $150,000 for our Scholarship Fund!
Casey Works for Homeland Security. Casey has several military veterans in her family and is very passionate about raising funds for the GDMF. She participates in our annual road race and has successfully run a marathon under 4 hours.
This will be her first Boston!
Geoff is no stranger to supporting military causes. He is an Ambassador for the Navy SEAL Foundation and in 2021 raised $20k in the Boston frogman swim that he is director of. Geoff has previously run Boston and is friends with some of our former marathoners.
